Beyond Burger Plant-Based Patties
Distribution expands to grocers nationwide
El Segundo, Calif.-based Beyond Meat has expanded U.S. distribution of its Beyond Burgers outside its exclusive agreement with Whole Foods, bringing the product to Safeway stores and making it available to other food retailers nationwide. The burgers – intended to merchandise in the meat department as opposed to the frozen section – are said to look, cook and satisfy like a traditional hamburger, enabling consumers to partake in the burgers they love while enjoying the health, sustainability and animal welfare benefits of plant-based protein, of which it has 20 grams. Beyond Burgers are free from cholesterol, GMOs, soy and gluten, and retail with an SRP of $5.99 per pack of two quarter-pound patties.
