Wegmans Touts Its Club Packs as Cheaper Than Warehouse Clubs'
Wegmans Markets this past weekend trumpeted its club pack program as beating club stores at their own price game.
The 71-store chain touted the program on its Web site and in e-newsletters sent to shoppers. "Club Packs: Think Wegmans," the chain said on its Web site. "You don't have to make a special trip for club-sized savings. We price to match or beat club store prices-and you'll never pay a membership fee!"
Wegmans went on to detail the club pack deals in its departments, including more than 80 in grocery; 23 in meat, seafood, and produce combined; over 30 items in frozen and dairy combined; and seven in GMHBC.
