In the Spotlight: McWilliam's Cool Climate Wines

Grown at elevations between 650 and 1,700 feet

McWilliam’s Wine Group has unveiled the U.S. introduction of a new line of high-altitude cool climate wines.

Grown at elevations between 650 and 1,700 feet in the region of New South Wales, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013 Shiraz and 2014 Chardonnay have been produced from vines with reduced yields to exhibit dramatic, yet refined flavor intensity, the company said.

“Some of the most exciting and successful wine regions in recent times can be found in the cooler climate regions found undulating along the Great Dividing Range, Australia’s largest mountain range,” said Bryan Currie, winemaking manager at McWilliam’s.

Each of the three wines will be sold through the company’s importer, Total Beverage Solution, at a suggested retail price of $14.99.
