NFRA Elects Officers and Directors

The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) elected its association officers and members of the trade organization’s board of directors for 2011-2012 at its Annual Membership Meeting and Luncheon, held Oct. 24 in Orlando, Fla. The meeting took place during the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

John Larsen, VP dairy & refrigerated at Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway Inc., was elected chairman. A board member since 2006, Larsen was vice chairman-refrigerated from 2008 to 2009 and chairman-elect in 2010. He is also a member of the Distinguished Order of Zerocrats.

Other officers sworn in at the Association’s 67th Annual Meeting were Bob Branham of General Mills, chairman-elect; Scott Haws of Land O’Lakes, secretary; Ray Tarnowski of Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, treasurer; Scott Rouse of Tyson Foods, vice chairman-frozen; and David Welch of Winn-Dixie, vice chairman-refrigerated.

Newly elected to the board were John Farmer, Global Dairy Products; Kathy Mondloch, Save Mart Supermarkets; Steve Ostrander, Crystal Farms; Sean Reid, Schwan’s Consumer Brands, North America Inc.; Ron Schwenn, Roundy’s Inc.; Joy Sgro, Bozzuto’s; and Craig Sharer, Heinz U.S. Consumer Products.

Elected for a second term on the board were John Arnold, Sargento Foods; David Davis, Welch’s Foods; David Epps, Sara Lee; Ken Gipple, Kraft Foods; Brian Haley, Burris Logistics; John Mastropaolo, Dannon Co. Inc.; William Mayo, Wakefern Food Corp.; Joseph Mrozek, Pinnacle Food Group LLC; and Louise Yerian, Nestle USA

Harrisburg, Pa.-based NFRA is a nonprofit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. The organization sponsors March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, the June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion, and the October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach initiative.
