PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Safeway Inc. today will unveil a newly-installed acre-wide rooftop solar array that will power a 55,000-square-foot store in Dublin, Calif., which the chains said is the first grocery store to be so configured.

CHICAGO -- The founding family of Dominick's Finer Foods here, the DiMatteos, reportedly has sold seven Chicago area retail properties in a portfolio totaling almost 425,000 square feet for about $75 million to investment advisory firm RREEF Real Estate.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Shaw's Supermarkets here and Portsmouth, N.H.-based Irving Oil, a regional refining and marketing company with customers in New England and eastern Canada, have launched an expanded, month-long partnership to provide discounts from 10 cents to 60 cents off per gallon for every qualified Shaw's purchase of $50 to $300 through Oct. 4.
