Homemade-In-Minutes Soup Mixes

Frontier Soups, based in Gurnee, Ill., has introduced two quicker-cooking Southwestern-flavored soup mixes under its Homemade-In-Minutes brand.

Montana Creekside Classic Chili delivers a classic flavor profile with green and red bell peppers, cumin, smoky paprika, coriander, and oregano, as well as ground chuck added by home cooks. A trio of chili peppers creates a depth of flavor, blending sweet heat from cayenne pepper, ancho peppers and a whole japones pepper. The mix also contains cooked and dehydrated pinto beans.

Southwestern Sausage & Chickpea Stew Mix offers some spicy heat from chorizo or hot Italian sausage added by home cooks, while the package itself provides chickpeas, saffron, Hungarian paprika, thyme and ground bay leaf.

Both contain no added salt or preservatives, and can be prepared in just 30 minutes. The suggested retail price is $5.95 to $6.95 for each 6-ounce package.
