Giant-Carlisle Adds ‘Pick Up’ Service at 5 More Stores
In partnership with sister company Peapod, Giant Food Stores has launched its “Giant Pick Up” service in five Montgomery and Bucks county communities in Pennsylvania. Shoppers can now order their groceries online for pickup at Giant’s Bensalem, Hatfield, Plymouth Meeting, Royersford and Warminster stores.
Earlier in November, the Ahold USA chain introduced the service to four other Pennsylvania stores.
“Giant is committed to providing our customers with options that will enable them to shop whenever and however is most convenient for them,” said Jeff Beaulieu, VP, sales and merchandising at Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant/Martin’s. “By partnering with Peapod, Giant Pick Up is a convenient and affordable option for customers to quickly pick up their groceries.”
To use the service, a shopper can visit Peapod.com or the Peapod smartphone app where she enters her ZIP code. Once there, she can add items to her cart, select a payment method and choose a one-hour pickup time any day of the week. There’s no fee for the service and no minimum purchase required. Manufacturer coupons are accepted and doubled, with customers prompted to enter them at the time of payment. When a customer arrives at her designated pickup, an associate will be on hand to place the bags directly into her car.
A shopper can also make personal lists, read nutritional information online, sort products quickly by price or by nutritional profile, as well as shop from a list of items she’s bought at her local store by entering her Giant BonusCard number online. She can additionally earn Gas Extra Rewards and A+ School Rewards on her pickup orders.
