Weis Markets has made three recent additions to its management team, with Mickey Stringham as its new director of produce/floral; Mike Mignola, as g.m. of its Maryland/West Virginia region; and Joe Harris, as district manager of its Harrisburg, Pa. region.

Mickey Stringham
In his new post, Stringham will oversee the Sunbury, Pa.-based grocery chain’s day-to-day produce and floral merchandising. Prior to joining Weis, Stringham worked for Supervalu’s Virginia-based Shoppers Food and Pharmacy unit.

The produce industry veteran, who had previously worked as a produce manager, produce buyer, and a senior level produce merchandiser/buyer, will report to Harry Giglio, v.p./perishables.

Mike Mignola
In his new capacity at Weis, Mignola will oversee the operations of 27 Weis Markets in Maryland and West Virginia. Prior to joining the company, he worked for the Rotterdam, N.Y.-based Price Chopper, where he held such positions as store manager, deli and center store specialist, and regional director. Mignola will report to Jay Ropietski, v.p./store operations.

Joe Harris
As district manager, Harris will oversee 15 stores in the Harrisburg region. Before coming to Weis, Harris also worked for Price Chopper, where he managed the company’s northeastern Pa. Edwardsville store. During his career, he helped open four stores and worked on store reset projects and shrink initiatives. Harris will report to regional director Brad Kochenour.

In addition to operating 155-store supermarkets in the five states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and West Virginia, Weis Markets also owns SuperPetz, a pet supply superstore chain with 31 locations in 10 states.
