01/28/2009
One of Village Farms' facilities in Texas recently received a perfect score in a GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) audit across all areas of its food safety and employee safety inspections.

According to Mike DeGiglio, Village Farms' CEO: "It is extremely important that Village Farms operate at the pinnacle of food safety standards in this industry. In these very competitive times, having the highest scores, which we publish and communicate to the industry, goes a long way in differentiating our brand and is a very important selling point for our sales and marketing team."

As one of North America's premier growers of hydroponic produce, the Eatontown, N.J.-based Village Farms is a pioneer of environmentally responsible farming practices at every stage of its Hydroperfect   growing process -- from germination to harvest.
