Tops Opens 2nd Central New York Fuel Station
Tops Markets LLC has rolled out its second central New York fueling station, in the town of DeWitt. The off-site fueling station, located a block from a Tops grocery store, is part of the grocer’s multimillion-dollar capital improvement plan.
The new Tops Xpress location, once the site of a Citgo fueling station, has four self-serve fuel dispensers offering regular, mid-grade and premium gas, and a 1,840-square-foot convenience store.
“The Tops Xpress store concept is an extension of our full-service grocery stores, with an even greater emphasis on convenience and value,” explained Frank Curci, president and CEO of Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops, which operates 133 supermarkets and employs 14,000 associates in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania. “Not only can shoppers fill their tanks, they can grab a hot, prepared meal or cup of coffee, all at an incredible value.”
Items available for purchase include frozen foods, beverages, snacks, along with coffee from a Tim Hortons branded kiosk. The store also carries a wide variety of made-to-order fresh foods to go, among them pizzas, salads and Tops Xpress signature subs.
“At participating locations, customers who shop at Tops earn GasPoints,” continued Curci. “The addition of this new fuel station and Tops Xpress store gives central New York customers yet another convenient way to save by shopping at Tops.”
Shoppers who use their BonusCards when at Tops earn points on qualifying grocery and pharmacy purchases. Customers earn one GasPoint for every dollar they spend and can track their points at the bottom of their receipts. The points can be redeemed by scanning their cards at a Tops gas pump.
Tops opened its first on-site fueling station in the region as part of a major renovation at its Baldwinsville, N.Y., store in late July of this year.
