GLOUCESTER, Mass. -- Gorton's Seafood here said it has recalled a single SKU of frozen fish fillets because the products might have been adulterated with pills. The recall involves slightly over 1,000 cases of product, Gorton's spokesman Judson Reis told Progressive Grocer yesterday. The company said that a family in central Pennsylvania reported finding pills in the product, but there have been no reports of illnesses from consuming the product.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer Inc. said it recalled 2,184 pounds of frozen entrees after testing showed possible Listeria contamination.

Nestlé USA has come out with seven Lean Pockets Made with Whole Grain, one of the only sandwich lines in the frozen aisle to feature whole grains. The line's varieties include Turkey, Broccoli & Cheese; Turkey & Ham with Cheese, Three Cheese & Broccoli; and Chicken, Broccoli & Cheddar.

SeaPak Shrimp Co., which is owned by Buffalo, N.Y.-based Rich Products Corp., the largest  family-owned frozen food manufacturer in the United States, is augmenting its lineup of frozen shrimp products with premium all-natural fish fillets and crab cakes.
