Spartan Said to Close 5 Northwest Ohio Pharm Stores
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Spartan Stores Inc. here is reportedly closing five Pharm discount drug and food stores in Bowling Green, Port Clinton, Findlay, Napoleon, and Lima, Ohio by month's end because of insufficient profitability, lack of growth potential, and expiring leases.
According to published reports, about 100 employees will be affected by the closures, company spokeswoman Jeanne Norcross was quoted as saying.
The five Ohio Pharm stores will close over the next two weeks with customer prescriptions set for transfer to other drug chains. The closings will not affect 14 Pharm locations in Toledo and its suburbs, Norcross said.
