Spartan Launches Statewide Habitat For Humanity Campaign

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Spartan Stores, through its D&W Fresh Markets, Family Fare Supermarkets, Felpausch, and Glen's Markets operations, launched a statewide Habitat for Humanity campaign with the goal of raising $100,000 in February to support "The House That Spartan Built," and Habitat chapters in the state where Spartan operates stores.

Customers have an opportunity to donate by purchasing a Habitat for Humanity medallion at D&W Fresh Markets, Family Fare, Felpausch and Glen’s locations, the grocer said. Customers may donate $1, $5 or $10 to help build Habitat homes, and they are able to write their name on the scan cards, which will be displayed throughout the store.

Spartan Stores associates have been involved with community events for Habitat for Humanity through volunteering to build Habitat for Humanity homes.

Spartan Stores supplies nearly 400 independent grocery stores in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, and also owns and operates 88 retail supermarkets and 14 deep-discount food and drug stores in Michigan and Ohio, including Family Fare Supermarkets, Glen's Markets, D&W Fresh Markets, Felpausch Food Centers and The Pharm.
