Slade Gorton & Co. Appoints President
BOSTON -- Kimberly Gorton, the granddaughter of the founder of Slade Gorton & Co., Inc., was named president of the family-owned seafood distribution business on Friday.
Gorton, 40, formerly the e.v.p. for business development, has worked for the company since 1989. She replaces Wallace Stevens, who is retiring after 16 years in the position.
Slade Gorton is known as an industry leader in the development, marketing, and direct distribution of seafood. The company annually purchases more than 100 million pounds of seafood from around the world.
The company has 200 employees and offices in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ft. Lauderdale, and Chicago.
