Sam’s Club Holding Open House

Sam’s Club has opened its doors for a national Holiday Open House, running from Friday, Dec. 6 to Sunday, Dec. 8, at which shoppers can learn party tips and take part in tastings of festive foods, as well as purchase items at value prices.

Attendees can pick up the free 21-page “Sam’s Club Holiday Party Planning Guide” -- available at the warehouse club store’s Tastes & Tips demo booth while supplies last -- which provides sample menus, recipes and shopping lists to plan seasonal events ranging from a formal dinner for six to an office party for 30 or more guests.

“Sam’s Club is a valuable partner for the holiday host,” said Charles Redfield, EVP of merchandise for Sam’s Club, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. “Our members rely on us to simplify party planning and bring on-trend flavors and excitement to their holiday gatherings.”

Party On

The party’s also at SamsClub.com, where visitors can shop for gifts, toys, housewares and technology. Online shoppers can buy items without fees by entering their e-mail addresses before checkout.

Among the party planning trends that Sam’s Club has identified are cheese plates or platters with diverse textures, origins and flavors; individual, mix-and-match mini desserts like cake balls or cheesecake bites; and slices of traditional offerings such as swirled New York and pumpkin cheesecake flavors. The retailer also has inexpensively priced gift sets and baskets for guests to bring to holiday get-togethers.
