Pork Board Launches Niche Pork Web Site
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Pork Board (NPB) here is taking its education of what niche pork is and its valuable attributes to the Web with the launch of http://www.Nichepork.org.
"Niche can mean many things to different people," said Larry Cizek, director of NPB's culinary/niche marketing development. "This Web site aims to help everyone understand the National Pork Board's position on niche pork and its many positive attributes. The Web site also helps interested parties find niche pork products."
The site is broken into three sections including an area for producers, retail and foodservice, and consumers (coming soon). One page that will be valuable for retailers to view is the Niche Terminology. This area of the web site offers definitions of common attributes associated with niche pork, and can provide a tool for retailers to help educate consumers. Also on the site, individuals can find resources, compliance guidelines, events and more.
