PMA Adds Crisis Management, Industry Recovery Workshops To Fresh Summit

NEWARK, DEL. - The Produce Marketing Association (PMA) here will add two new workshops to the agenda of this year's Fresh Summit International Convention and Exposition, in San Diego, Oct. 20-24.

Spinach Town Hall: Path for Recovery will be held take place on Sat., Oct. 21, 2006, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PMA President Bryan Silbermann and a panel of industry and government leaders will provide up-to-date information on the recent food safety crisis and insight into industry responses and impact. The workshop will also include information about what PMA is doing to help the industry respond and move forward.

Food Safety Crisis Management will be held on Mon., Oct. 23. 2006, from 10:45 a.m. - 11:55 a.m. This session is designed for those who want to proactively and effectively handle a crisis. The workshop will include information on how to analyze individual company's vulnerability to a crisis and recommended steps to take and what to avoid when a crisis first hits. It will include explanation of various trade and consumer media outlets and the appropriate response.
