NACDS Names Krese S.V.P. Marketing & Communications

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) yesterday appointed Christopher P. Krese s.v.p. of marketing, communications, and media relations.

The appointment follows the association's April 4 announcement of a restructuring to ensure NACDS is "aggressively promoting the value of community pharmacy to the American people, and to the target audiences that impact the image and the success of the industry," according to NACDS president and c.e.o. Steven C. Anderson.

"Chris is the best in the business when it comes to industry and association messaging, branding, and positioning," added Anderson. "He also will bring energy and expertise to the essential work of telling the positive story of our members' value to the nation, communities, and individuals through a proactive industry image campaign."

Krese brings 14 years of professional experience, including senior management experience in trade associations, congressional offices, and a public affairs firm. Most recently, Krese was s.v.p. of industry affairs for the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), and simultaneously held various related responsibilities, including serving as executive director of the Frozen Food Foundation.

Prior to this, he was s.v.p. of marketing and communications at the National Restaurant Association. Krese also launched the food and hospitality practice of Xenophon Strategies, Inc., a strategic communications firm specializing in public affairs, crisis communications, and media relations, and served as press secretary to former U.S. Rep. William F. Clinger, R-Pa., chairman of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee.

Krese will assume his new role on April 19 and will report directly to Anderson.
