Meijer Partners with Produce for Kids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- For the fourth consecutive year, more than 175 Meijer stores are participating in a Produce for Kids (PFK), a program that promotes the importance of produce in children's daily diets, and raises funds for Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
From May 21-June 24, Meijer will promote program sponsors in the stores. The products linked to the promotion are Shuman Produce's REALSWEET brand Vidalia onions; Del Monte Gold extra sweet pineapples in whole and fresh cut forms; T. Marzetti refrigerated salad dressings; Stemilt Growers' apples and cherries; Dole Fresh packaged salads; Ripe N' Ready tree fruit; and Green Giant Fresh red potatoes.
The sponsors contribute to Children's Miracle Network by making a per-unit donation based on shipments of the items to Meijer. All funds directly benefit Children's Miracle Network hospitals located within the areas served by the stores.
"With the national notoriety of Connie Evers and the additional activities and incentives offered through the Healthy Kids Club, this year's PFK campaign promises to create more fun and raise more funds than ever," said Dan McFarland, marketing promotional specialist for Meijer. "Meijer is committed to providing this valuable information to its customers and pleased to give back to the community by supporting local Children's Miracle Network hospitals."
Meijer operates 175 stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
