ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- For the second time this month, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. here has issued a voluntary recall of a private label product -- this time it's 22-ounce loaves of Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Country Wheat Hearty Sliced Bread with a "Best if used by" date of Aug. 22, because the item may contain pieces of cotton and could pose a choking hazard. The retailer received several complaints on Wednesday from shoppers who discovered pieces of cotton baked into the product.

WASHINGTON -- The Food and Drug Administration late last week approved a combination of six viruses, known as bacteriophages, or "bacteria eaters," to be sprayed on meat and poultry just prior to packaging, to battle strains of Listeria monocytogenes.
