Schnuck Markets, Inc. is embracing Earth Day this Wednesday as a milestone in its mission to strengthen its environmental commitment to build more earth-friendly stores and facilities.

Golub Corp., parent company of the 117-store Price Chopper grocery chain in the Northeast, held a “topping off” celebration last week upon the completion of steel construction on the new Price Chopper corporate offices in Schenectady, N.Y.

HEB said Friday it opened what it described as its “greenest” store yet, the HEB Bunker Hill Market in Houston, which is the chain’s first certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building and a showcase for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly operations.

Quick service restaurant chain Dominos Pizza last week named retail technology vendor Pan-Oston winner of its prestigious Partner Award for 2007 as part of its ESP program (Excellence through Supplier Partnerships) -- a supply chain management program that develops relationships though a 360 degree performance evaluation process aimed at continuous improvement between Dominos and suppliers.
