In other Harris Teeter news, the grocer's parent company, Charlotte-based Ruddick Corp., revealed its intention to seek shareholder approval to change its name to Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc.. in a Dec. 14 U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The move reflects Ruddick's sale of its other line of business, textile company American & Efird Corp., in November to focus exclusively on the 204-store supermarket chain.
