FMI Reschedules Future Connect for October; Postpones Marketechnics Until May 2010

The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) has rescheduled its Future Connect leadership talent development conference, which will now take place Oct. 12 to Oct. 14, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dallas. The trade group has also postponed Marketechnics until May 10 to May 13, 2010, to run in conjunction with its FMI 2010 event in Las Vegas.

“FMI appreciates the support and positive reinforcement we have received from the industry as we addressed the myriad issues resulting from the postponement of two events due to the influenza outbreak,” said Leslie G. Sarasin, FMI’s president and CEO.

All attendees registered for the previously scheduled Future Connect have been transferred to the October event. Companies may make substitutions on existing attendee registrations as needed.

FMI is urging attendees to make new hotel reservations at www.fmifutureconnect.com. Registration for the event will reopen and new attendees may register online at the same Web site.

As the industry’s first leadership talent development event, Future Connect features three educational tracks -- operations, executive and senior executive. The highly interactive and collaborative programming format mixes strategically focused general sessions with hands-on, university-style case studies and work groups.

Meanwhile, attendees of the postponed May 2009 Marketechnics event will receive a credit for attendance at FMI 2010 -- which will take place on May 10 to May 13, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center -- or any other FMI event, valid through May 31, 2010.
