First Two Leeann Chin Restaurants to Open in Rainbow Foods Sites
EDINA, Minn. - Rainbow Foods said yesterday it would open its first two Leeann Chin Chinese restaurants at the Bloomington and Maple Grove Rainbow Foods grocery store sites this month.
The Bloomington location is set to open on July 6, and the Leeann Chin restaurant at the Maple Grove Rainbow Foods location is slated open by the end of July, although no specific date has been given yet.
The Leeann Chin in-store restaurants will offer Rainbow Foods shoppers appetizers, salads, stir fries, rice, noodles, and ready-to-serve signature dishes.
"We are pleased to begin a successful working relationship with Leeann Chin," said Robert Mariano, c.e.o. of Milwaukee-based Roundy's, which owns and operates the 31 Rainbow Foods stores. "We place high value on the Leeann Chin brand and quality of food that this Minnesota-based company produces -- making it a wonderful addition to our stores."
"Leeann Chin is looking forward to the upcoming restaurant openings," said Steve Finn, chairman and c.e.o. of Leeann Chin, Inc. in Minneapolis. "By partnering with Rainbow Foods, we are able to expand our customer base while continuing to explore new ways to increase our success throughout the Twin Cities."
Leeann Chin currently runs 55 units in Minnesota and Wisconsin. In addition to its restaurants, the company has a line of Asian sauces and frozen dinner entrees and appetizers available nationwide at grocery and specialty food retailers.
