Distributor, Retailer to Roll Out Separate Tomax Solutions
ROBESONIA, Pa. and ALBANY, Calif. -- Two food industry companies have signed agreements with Chicago-based Tomax, a provider of real-time merchandising and store execution applications and services: Distributor Associated Wholesalers, Inc. (AWI) is implementing the Tomax Workforce Management solution, which AWI members can access online for such services as labor forecasting, scheduling, and time and attendance, while premium grocery market Andronico's has rolled out Tomax's Retail.net solution, which features such customer management functions as point of sale and an integrated ISD debit/credit payment solution.
Tomax provides lower-cost alternatives that enable smaller retailers to implement cutting-edge retail management solutions. The Tomax offering to AWI is based on the "Software as a Service" (SaaS) pay-as-you-go model, which allows businesses to obtain the same advantages enjoyed by their larger counterparts.
"Our Workforce Management customers include some of the biggest supermarket chains in the country," said Tomax v.p. of sales Steve Klingler in a statement. "Many realize payroll savings of 10 percent while simultaneously improving customer service. It is exciting to now make the same solution available to independent supermarket operators in a cost and delivery model they can afford. This offering is the result of more than 20 years' experience in the labor management software business and six years of experience as a hosted services provider, and is made possible by recent advancements in open source software platforms."

Future implementation phases of the Retail.net solution for Andronico's will include store operations, merchandising and advanced price management.
