ATLANTA - In one of the biggest single geographic expansions of TNR Entertainment Corp's DVD rental kiosks, Kroger's division here has just completed the installation of 170 new kiosks in its stores throughout the region.

MONTVALE, N.J. -- The Great Atlantic & Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) here has entered into a long-term partnership with Security Check, LLC, an Oxford, Miss.-based check-processing service provider. Security Check's program at A&P includes total returned check management services and collections.

Created and marketed by the company, the bags cost 99 cents each and will advance the work of the Elizabeth Haub Foundation, to which a portion of sale proceeds will be donated.

MONTREAL -- Thanks to its acquisition of A&P Canada last year, Metro, Inc. here amassed net earnings of $78.9 million (US $69.3 million) in the fourth quarter of 2006 vs. $50.2 million in the year-ago period -- a 57.2 percent leap. Fully diluted net earnings per share were 68 cents, compared with 48 cents last year, a 41.7 percent increase.
