BGC to Provide Ice Cream for Brookshire Bros.
Tyler,Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. recently sealed a deal with Lufkin, Texas-based Brookshire Bros. to manufacture Goldenbrook Ice Cream for all 74 of its stores located across Texas and Louisiana.
Brookshire Bros. will carry Goldenbrook Ice Cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet in the half-gallon and pint sizes. More than 14 flavors will be offered, including Homeade Vanilla, Chocolate, Cookies N Crème, Buttered Pecan and Rocky Road.
The partnership came after several years of BGC’s dairy plant manufacturing private-label milk for Brookshire Bros. Currently Brookshire Brothers and BGC are the only retailers to carry the Goldenbrook Farms label.
“We are pleased to expand this partnership with Brookshire Brothers,” said Rick Rayford, BGC president and CEO. “Manufacturing Goldenbrook Farms products for other companies opens the door for Goldenbrook to be a regional brand that offers high quality and a great value for the consumer.”
“Goldenbrook Ice Cream is an excellent product and features the quality and variety we expect to provide our customers,” said Bruce Bryant, VP of marketing for Brookshire Bros. “Brookshire Grocery Co. Manufacturing is also a long-standing and valued business partner. We believe our customers will enjoy this product and make Goldenbrook Ice Cream one more reason to shop at Brookshire Brothers.”
Goldenbrook Ice Cream will be available in Brookshire Bros. stores effective early April.
Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 154 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.
Brookshire Bros. operates 72 retail supermarkets in predominantly rural markets and the outskirts of the Houston metro area.
