AG New England Posts Record Sales

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Associated Grocers of New England here reported record-breaking sales of over $280 million at its annual meeting.

"Sales increased by over $13 million for the fiscal year that ended this past March," noted company president and c.e.o. Michael Bourgoine in a statement. "Contributing to the increase was a 13 percent rise in the number of member stores."

Over the past 10 years, AG New England's number of member/retailers has grown by over 43 percent. The largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery distributor in the region, AG New England serves independent supermarkets, community food stores, and convenience stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area. The co-op posted patronage refunds to its member/retailers of $1,780,539, the third-highest rate of return in its 60-year history.

Entirely owned by independent retail grocers, AG New England operates from its new, 380,000-square-foot Distribution Center in Pembroke.
