AG New England Appoints Bowie Retail Counselor and Meat Specialist

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Associated Grocers of New England here has named Ed Bowie a retail counselor for Bowie will also serve as meat specialist, specializing on the southern New England marketing area. He replaces Dan Reilly, who has left the company.

"For the past eight years, Ed has been an AG meat buyer," said s.v.p. of sales and retail development Mike Violette in a statement. "Before that, he gained considerable experience in meat and deli management with several markets in Ridgefield and Darien, Conn.; he had also become owner of Brunetti's Market in Ridgefield. As a result he has an excellent background in both the wholesale and retail sides of the food industry."

Bowie reports to retail accounts manager Paul Greenan.

AG New England, owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative and the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England, serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area.
