Acme Markets Raises Funds for Local Hospitals
PHILADELPHIA -- Acme Markets here will raise funds for the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as part of its participation in Produce for Kids, the program that promotes the importance of adding more fruits and vegetables to children's daily diets.
From May 26-June 22, Acme Markets will promote the following sponsors in their stores: Shuman Produce's REALSWEET brand Vidalia Onions; Del Monte Gold Extra Sweet pineapples in whole and fresh cut forms; Fresh Express fresh-cut salads; T. Marzetti refrigerated salad dressings and Veggie Dips; Country fresh-cut fruit and vegetables; Ripe N' Ready tree fruit; and Sunkist oranges.
Participating sponsors contribute to Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by making a per-unit donation based on shipments of select items to Acme Markets. All funds directly benefit children's hospitals located within the areas served by the participating retailers.
