Winn-Dixie Celebrates Revamped Miami Store
Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. wants customers to experience its newly renovated Coral Way store in Miami not just on its reopening day of Nov. 16, but also throughout November, December and January. To mark the reopening, the store will host a range of free special events highlighting such new offerings as cooking demonstrations, live entertainment and giveaways.
During the Open House event on Nov.16, attendees can partake of product samplings and snap up recipe cards for featured items, among other activities.
On tap for December are Winn-Dixie Family Fun Day on the third, at which shoppers will be able to sample food and enjoy a special appearance by Billy the Marlin, and kids can decorate mini cupcakes, assemble ice cream sundaes and get their faces painted, and Celebrate the Taste of the Holidays at Winn-Dixie on the 16th, at which customers can learn holiday cooking tips through a turkey-carving demonstration, sample menu items and admire holiday centerpiece demonstrations.
In other Winn-Dixie store news, the Southeast regional grocer has completed its sixth multimillion-dollar "transformational" store renovation, in Port Charlotte, Fla. The remodel features a new decor package and enlarged store departments, as well as such amenities as a Wi-Fi Internet Cafe.
On Jan. 7, the store will present A Fresh New Start, aimed at customers looking to improve their overall health and get in shape for the New Year. Attendees will be able to take advantage of complimentary health screenings, including a cholesterol check and blood pressure reading; healthy eating and cooking demonstrations by Chef Pepin; and organic product sampling.
