Whole Foods Opens Eatery in El Segundo

Customers of Whole Foods Market’s El Segundo, Calif., store can now enjoy autumn-inspired dishes, as well as a wide selection of beer and wine, at the store’s newly opened 2ND bar and restaurant.

Located within the store, the restaurant can seat more than 100 people indoors and outdoors, and will host special events and programs, including wine and beer pairings, live music and family friendly activities. Customers can enjoy daily specials on oysters, tacos, burgers, beer, charcuterie and fresh fish, as well as “game night” specials during college and professional football games, and “happy hour” deals weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m., when wine, beer and food will cost $7 or less.

On the menu, seasonal offerings include an autumn squash and grilled apple salad, a porcini cutlet with farro risotto, and vegan chocolate cake. A special “toast menu” includes creative toasts such as “forest schroom” with almond ricotta, sautéed baby kale, roasted garlic and Fresno chile. Also on the menu are such vegan and vegetarian dishes as jackfruit “crab” cakes and cauliflower nachos, and brunch dishes on weekends that range from the traditional croque madame to electic brunch bowls inspired by Latin, Asian and American flavors.

On tap, customers can enjoy local beers from El Segundo Brewery, The Strand Brewhouse, King Harbor, Smog City and Boomtown, as well as seasonals and limited releases. On the non-alcoholic side, they can enjoy Health-Ade Kombucha tea drinks.
