Wal-Mart to Showcase Martori Farms Produce in Salute to America's Farmers

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart said Friday it plans to showcase Martori Farms produce in conjunction with its Salute to America's Farmers program throughout the month of September.

The chain will identify the produce via signs inside Arizona Wal-Mart Supercenter and Neighborhood Market stores.

Since 1991, Wal-Mart has worked with the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Martori Farms, helping the grower-shipper become the largest grower/distributor of cantaloupes in the nation.

Today Martori Farms is the exclusive provider of variety melons and organic cantaloupe for all 2,470 Supercenter and Neighborhood Market stores nationwide.

Since September 2006, Wal-Mart's Salute to America's Farmers program has honored select growers across the country.
