Village ShopRite E.V.P. Re-elected NJFC Chairman

TRENTON, N.J. -- William Sumas, e.v.p. of Springfield, N.J.-based Village ShopRite Supermarkets, has been elected to a seventh one-year term as chairman of the board of the New Jersey Food Council (NJFC).

Sumas was re-elected at the organization's annual membership meeting held last week in Iselin, N.J. Other association officers elected were vice chairman Jim McCaffrey of McCaffrey's Markets in Princeton, secretary Colleen Meares of Stop & Shop, treasurer Joseph Moran of A&P in Carteret, and NJFC president Linda Doherty. At the meeting, NJFC members also elected the board of directors for 2006.

The NJFC has more than 300 members representing over 1,200 retail food stores, wholesalers, and the manufacturing and service companies that supply them.
