Village Beach Market to Launch Online Grocery Shopping

Village Beach Market will launch a home delivery service in Vero Beach, Fla., via a personalized online grocery platform.

The IGA grocer will deploy the Foodie.fm platform from Digital Foodie, which includes a fully customizable store for ordering and fulfillment for in-store picking and home deliveries. The heart of the service connects to the grocer’s inventory and enables behavioral recommendations designed to build strong consumer connections.

The service will enable Village Beach Market to offer consumers personalized circulars and food recommendations linked to products and shopping online. Foodie’s tablet-based in-store tools will cover selection of orders, picking multiple orders simultaneously, as well as click-and-collect and home deliveries. Additionally, driver tools with real-time order tracking will give customers full transparency to the fulfillment process.

“The pace at which consumers adapt new technologies is amazing. We want to be part of that,” said Jason Keen, COO of Village Beach Market. “Our aim is to provide a seamless omnichannel experience, whether the customer shops in-store or online.”

Kalle Koutajoki, CEO of Digital Foodie, said, “The grocery retail industry is undergoing a major transformation from brick-and-mortar to online. Consumers demand convenience and the ability to save time in their busy lives. Together with our retail customers, we have achieved an impressive average sales growth of 100% during the past three years in Europe. Now it’s time to take this to the USA.”
