Van den Bergh Nominated for Ahold Supervisory Board

Rob van den Bergh has been nominated for appointment to the supervisory board of Amsterdam-based retail conglomerate Ahold, according to the company. Van den Bergh is the former CEO of publishing and marketing information company VNU (a past owner of Progressive Grocer) and currently sits on a number of corporate boards in the Netherlands. His nomination will be on the agenda at Ahold’s annual general meeting of shareholders next month.

At that time, Karen de Segundo, a member since 2004 and an active participant in the audit and selection appointment committees, will step down from the board for personal reasons.

Pending shareholder approval, board membership as of April 20 will consist of René Dahan, chairman; Tom de Swaan vice chairman; Derk C. Doijer; Stephanie M. Shern; Judith Sprieser; Mark McGrath; Ben Noteboom; and van den Bergh.
