When surfers land on United Supermarkets' Web site, they are greeted with "Your Savings Are Here." The grocer recently redesigned its site to give specials and coupons prominent positioning on its home page.
"In today's economy, I believe this is an important service for our guests and users of our Web site," Eddie Owens, director, corporate communications told Progressive Grocer. "We have really bolstered our efforts in recent months to provide more value propositions to our guests."
Included in the savings section are one-day, weekly, and monthly specials as well as store brands, pharmacy specials, and family meals under $15. Online coupons are also featured in the section.
This week, customers could choose from over 70 coupons to receive via email in a wide variety of areas, including baby and kids, household and health, and personal care.
"Our online coupons aren't really new," Owens said. "They've been a part of our Web site since before I got here almost 5 years ago. We've just made it more prominent during the last few months through the redesign of our Web site."
