United Natural Foods Hires New President of the Western Region
DAYVILLE, Conn. -- United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) here has named Randle E. Lindberg, formerly the president and c.e.o. of Brea, Calif.-based health and natural products wholesaler and distributor Nature's Best, president of its western region, effective Jan. 30.
He will report to UNFI e.v.p., c.o.o., and president of distribution Richard Anontelli, his immediate predecessor in the position.
Lindberg guided Nature's Best from 1979 until June 2005. His professional experience encompasses operations, sales and marketing, analysis and implementation of acquisitions, and strategic planning. Under his leadhership, Nature's Best grew its geographic presence from Southern California to 11 Western states, Hawaii, Alaska, and some international markets. Before rising to the top spot at Nature's Best, Lindberg served in various positions within that company, beginning in 1972.
The job of president of the western region had been vacant since December 2005, when UNFI promoted Antonelli to his current position.
UNFI carries and distributes over 40,000 products to more than 20,000 customers across the United States. The company serves a wide variety of retail formats, among them conventional supermarket chains, natural product superstores, independent retail operators, and the foodservice channel.
