Tom Woodmansee Honored with NGA Association Leadership Award

Tom Woodmansee, former president of the North Dakota Grocers Association, was honored with the National Grocers Association (NGA) Association Leadership Award. Woodmansee ran the North Dakota Grocers Association for 31 years until his retirement recently.

During his tenure, Woodmansee steered many successful state and federal legislative efforts on a number of key industry issues, such as the enactment of a law prohibiting banks from imposing redemption fees on supermarket food stamp deposits. He also was honored for developing close relationships with local and state officials as well as North Dakota’s delegation of U.S. representatives and senators.

NGA initiated the award more than 10 years ago to honor state association executives who work tirelessly on behalf of the independent supermarket industry. Past recipients include Brandon Scholz, president/CEO of Wisconsin Grocers Association; Jan Gee, president/CEO of Washington Food Industry Association; and Kathy Siefken, executive director of Nebraska Grocery Industry Association.
