Stater Bros. Markets Opens New Store in Adelanto, Calif.

COLTON, Calif. -- Stater Bros. Markets today opened a new full service supermarket at the Adelanto Marketplace in Adelanto, Calif., its 51st supermarket in San Bernardino County.

"We have been serving the High Desert for 29 years," said Jack H. Brown, chairman and c.e.o. of Stater Bros. Markets. "We now have 10 supermarkets to serve the growing families in these communities."

At 44,000 sq. ft., the "Blue Ribbon" supermarket includes the following features:
--Full service meat department with Stater Bros. butchers to provide preparation tips
--Full service fresh seafood department
--Full service hot service deli offering a complete selection of salads, premium deli meats, a wide variety of domestic and imported cheeses, and sandwiches-to-go, including the company's new "Sandwich Classics" using La Brea rolls, party trays, quick and easy hot lunches and dinners, and fried chicken
--Full service hot bakery featuring daily fresh baked artisan breads, cookies, rolls, elegant desserts, and custom-made cakes for all occasions, including picture cakes
--Expanded produce department featuring more than 800 items
--Floral department offering fresh-cut flower bouquets, silk arrangements, potted plants, and balloons
--Stater Bros. Super Rx Pharmacy
--Energy efficient skylights

Company-wide, the retailer now operates 163 supermarkets. It had annual sales in 2005 of $3.4 billion.
