Stater Bros. Markets to Award $185,000 to Local Charities

COLTON, Calif. - Stater Bros. Markets will award $185,000 to 37 charities in San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties.

"The Stater Bros. 'Family' of Employees is pleased to present these checks in the 'Hometowns' that we serve," said Jack H. Brown, chairman and c.e.o. "Helping our friends and neighbors in need is the Stater Bros. way."

Stater Bros. raised the funds in partnership with the Food for All program, operating in all 159 of the chain's supermarkets. The program provides Stater Bros. customers and employees with the opportunity to purchase a $1, $3, or $5 donation card, available at the checkout stand, while paying for their groceries. Funds are used to create grants to local anti-hunger agencies that support the communities served by Stater Bros. Since 1987 Stater Bros. has raised more than $2 million in this campaign.
