Stater Bros. Donates 1,000 NASCAR Tickets to Military
COLTON, Calif. - Stater Bros. Markets is donating 1,000 tickets to military personnel for the upcoming NASCAR races at the California Speedway in Fontana, Calif. The donation includes tickets for the "Stater Bros. 300" NASCAR Race on May 1, as well as the "Auto Club 500" NASCAR Race on May 2.
As the "Official Grocery Store" of the California Speedway for 2004, Stater Bros. is also the title sponsor of the NASCAR Busch Series event, "The Stater Bros. 300" at the California Speedway on May 1.
Company chairman, president, and c.e.o. Jack H. Brown personally contacted local military bases about this donation, and several members of the military will be participating with the retailer in the race day pageantry, including the starting of the May 1 race.
"The Stater Bros. 'family' of employees is extremely proud of the brave men and women who are answering the call of duty for America, and we are honored to be able to provide these valuable tickets to many of those who are stationed away from home at our local Southern California military bases. These troops are defending our great country, and we must do all we can to pay tribute to them," said Brown.
Stater Bros. has a long history of support for the armed forces and U.S. military operations. For every major military operation, Stater Bros. has created tribute posters that are sent to the men and women in the armed forces, displayed in the windows of all its supermarkets, and full-page tributes are placed in local newspapers.
Stater Bros. also protects the jobs of its company reservists who are called to active duty, paying the difference between their pay at Stater Bros. and their military pay, and the company continues to cover medical, dental, and vision benefits for their families.
Already operating 158 locations, Stater Bros. has announced plans to build new Southern California supermarkets in the communities of Adelanto, Corona, Beaumont, Wildomar (Bear Creek), and Fontana.
