Stater Bros. Charities, IWFC Team Up for ‘Believe Walk’

Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer (IWFC) will kick off the 6th Annual Believe Walk on Oct. 6 in Redlands, Calif., to once again aid local cancer-fighting organizations.

“This small town event has evolved into a community celebration,” said Jack H. Brown, chairman and CEO of San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. Supermarkets. “Everyone is affected by cancer at some point in their lives, and it’s amazing to see how our community, the Inland Empire, has stepped up to the plate to do something about it.”

Since its inception, the Believe Walk has donated over $1.7 million to local cancer fighting organizations, including the Patient Resource Center at Loma Linda University Cancer Center, St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, Redlands Community Hospital and Michelle’s Place in Temecula Valley.

“The level of community support for the Believe Walk has been amazing,” said Nancy Varner, co-founder of the IWFC Committee. “It’s so exciting to see how all aspects of the community have come together for one cause, to fight cancer.”

Walk participants and volunteers are encouraged to register online at www.BelieveIE.com for either a 5K or 10K route. Individual registration is $35; $10 for participants 4-12 years old; and 3 and under is free. There is an additional $15 late registration fee after Sept. 30.

At the end of the Walk, participants will celebrate at the Believe Bash located at the Redlands Bowl, where more than 50 vendors will be on hand with food and free items for participants.

Stater Bros. Charities is a nonprofit organization that supports critical needs in the communities where Stater Bros. employees live and work.
