Stater Bros. Appoints Senior Director Real Estate
Stater Bros. Markets, has named Michael Reed to the position of senior director real estate for the San Bernardino, Calif.-based grocery chain.
“We have great confidence that Michael will do an outstanding job of leading our real estate division,” said Jack H. Brown, Stater Bros. chairman of the board and CEO. “His management and real estate expertise will help Stater Bros. meet our present and future real estate needs.”
Various Leadership Roles
Bringing more than 13 years of retail real estate experience to his new role, Reed (right) has held various leadership positions with other retailers, most recently as real estate store development manager for Seattle-based Starbucks, where he was responsible for growing the company’s Mid-West and Western Mountain regions. Reed also worked for Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Supervalu, including nine years at Albertsons in Southern California, where he rose through the ranks from real estate coordinator to director of real estate.
Additionally, Reed is a member of the New York-based International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), serving as the Illinois state retail chairman from 2011 to 2013.
Stater Bros., the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California, operates 167 Supermarkets, employing more than 18,000 associates.
