Sprouts Sending Employees for Holistic Nutrition Certification

To address consumers' growing demand for health-and-wellness information, Sprouts Farmers Markets is sending a representative from each of its regions to become certified as holistic nutrition educators. Four are certified to date.

"Our customers have let us know that health and nutrition information is important to them, and Sprouts answers the call," said Patti Milligan M.S., R.D., C.N.S., corporate nutritionist for Sprouts. "Sprouts is committed to providing credible nutrition information to its customers and, as part of that continuing commitment, we have well-trained educators in each region."

Sprouts teamed up with the Australasian College of Health Sciences (ACHS) to educate its vitamin department staff. "Sprouts has developed a knowledgeable team dedicated to educating customers on the best products for their personal health and wellness, creating incredible value for their customers," noted Tracy Miller, ACHS dean of admissions. "ACHS graduates have completed rigorous, dynamic, and up-to-date training in holistic nutrition."

Sprouts provides 60 to 80 health-and-wellness lectures each month, delivered by experts in their fields. Topics include digestive issues, women's health, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, and cooking demonstrations.

Phoenix-based Sprouts operates 25 stores in Arizona, California, Texas, and Colorado.
