Spec's Liquor and Finer Foods to Open Another Houston Location

Spec's Liquor and Finer Foods has leased a 24,772-square-foot store that once housed a former Linens N' Things location within the Weslayan Plaza shopping center in Houston.

The 355,761 square-foot-shopping center is anchored by a 51,960-square-foot Randall's supermarket and also includes such businesses as Ross Dress for Less, Michaels, Chuck E. Cheese, Office Max and Walgreens.

"We welcome Spec's to our center, which is located within the desirable West University and Greenway corridor of Houston," said Ben Brown, leasing agent for Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers. "The affluent customer base in the area now has another convenient Spec's location to purchase fine wines and liquors along with gourmet foods and upscale glassware, decanters and gifts."

The store, slated to open on May 1 of this year, will be the retailer’s 50th in the state of Texas, according to Brown.

Family-owned and -operated Spec's currently has 28 locations in the greater Houston area and 49 stores statewide. The retailer offers wines, spirits, beers, liqueurs, cigars and gourmet foods, as well as deli meats, pates, domestic and imported cheeses, fresh caviar, a complete assortment of domestic and imported smoked fish and salmon, a full line of jams and jellies, pastas and sauces, oils and vinegars, crackers and cookies, among other products.
