SoCal Grocers Ratify Labor Deals With UFCW

Southern California grocery retailers Ralph's, Albertsons and Von's have ratified a new labor contract with UFCW Locals. Details of the agreement have not yet been released.

The agreements, which include Locals 8GS, 135, 324, 770, 1167, 1428 and 1442, were reached after four months of negotiations, according to a statement from UFCW.

"These agreements provide our associates a solid compensation package of wages, health care and retirement benefits," said Donna Giordano, president of Ralphs, a division of Kroger Co. "These agreements come after thoughtful and productive work by both the company and union bargaining committees. I want to thank our associates for supporting these agreements and for the excellent service they provide to our customers every day."

The current contract expired in early March, and workers are currently on a day-to-day extension, according to UFCW.
