Smart Balance Introduces Heart Health Web Resource

As a way to mark American Heart Month in February, the Smart Balance website is providing free personalized Valentine’s Day e-cards as well as a $3 coupon and hundreds of heart-healthier recipes, articles, frequently asked questions and heart health tips. Visitors who send three e-cards can save $3 on Smart Balance products.

The site, which will feature a special “For Your Heart” section all this month, also offers an online community where users can offer feedback and engage in dialogue, and a 14-day customizable food plan.

“We see American Heart Month as an opportunity to bring heart health to the forefront,” explained John Becker, VP of marketing for Paramus, N.J.-based Smart Balance, which in addition to marketing the Smart Balance brand, offers the Glutino, Earth Balance and Bestlife product lines. “We want to encourage individuals to take control of their heart health and embrace simple steps toward living a healthier lifestyle for February and beyond, without sacrificing taste.”

Highlighted recipes that are appropriate for Valentine’s Day include chocolate dessert crepes with raspberries and chocolate chip banana muffins.
