Skeeter Raises Nut-free Awareness via Pinterest

Skeeter Snacks, a manufacturer of nut-free snacks, has launched the No Nuts About It. Pin It To Win It contest on Pinterest. Running through Dec. 16, the contest invites participants to vote for their favorite Skeeter tips and products on Pinterest, for a weekly chance of winning Skeeter prize packs. The brand is hosting the contest to raise awareness of living with nut allergies.

To take part in the contest, consumers are encouraged to follow Skeeter’s No Nuts About It board on Pinterest and interact regularly. The board is updated daily with product images, healthy snacking tips and nut-free kids activities.

Participants can share the board with their followers daily during the contest, with points awarded for following, repinning, liking and commenting on Skeeter’s pins within the No Nuts About It board. To earn an additional five points, participants can tweet @SkeeterSnacks, tag @SkeeterSnacks on Instagram and post on Skeeter’s Facebook page using an @ mention to tell at which retailers they encountered the brand, along with hashtag #NoNutsAboutIt.

“This Pin It To Win It campaign is a great opportunity for us to interact with our consumers across the country,” explained Skeeter Director of Marketing Laurie Witt. “We love sharing our love for Skeeter and helping draw attention to the rising issue of food allergies, especially tree nut and peanut allergies. Our snacks are a delicious treat for everyone with nut allergies, but also for people without nut allergies.”

Founded in Westport, Conn., by two dads with nut-allergic children, the Skeeter product line includes Chocolate Chunk, Golden Oatmeal, Skeeter Doodle and Chocolate Cubed cookies.
