SIAL Montreal Becomes Annual Event

MONTREAL -- SIAL Montreal, the New World version of the huge food exhibition of the same name in Europe, will now be an annual event, said show organizers.

The decision, made by Expo Canada France, SIAL SA, Agri-Food Export Group Quebec-Canada, and the A.D.A (Association of Quebec Food Retailers), follows a development and launch period during which the show was held every two years. The next show is planned for April 23 to 25, 2008 in Montreal's Palais des Congres convention center, said SIAL SA.

The growing success of SIAL Montreal over its first four editions has made it a popular event on the Quebec, Canada, and international tradeshow circuit, said SIAL. According to research cited by SIAL Montreal, 97 percent of visitors were either very or fairly satisfied with their visit at SIAL Montreal 2007, and 85 percent of exhibitors surveyed reported being either very or fairly satisfied they took part in SIAL Montreal.

In all, more than 13,000 visits from buyers from the agrifood, distribution, and restaurant industries attended the event during the three days it ran in 2007. For more information, visit www.sialmontreal.com.
